“We all have fear of facing the job interview how does one prepare that fear makes them the strongest contender for the job.”

During a job interview, having the proper preparation and mindset can enable you to show your strengths and exhibit your best skills.

Some people find it so difficult to believe as they may not have had such great interview experiences in the past. If that’s your feeling based on your past interview experiences, I can tell you that the proper preparation makes all the difference.

Let me catalog the most common types of interviews you are likely to face, but I will not go much into their preparation in this email. We will talk about them in the future email, I promise.

Phone Interview

Today, most companies make sure to screen candidates over a telephonic interview before getting them for an actual interview in their office.
The purpose of the phone interview is to know whether you are technically competent and psychologically fit.

You need to stay in a peaceful area with proper network strength so that your response is audible to the interviewer. It will help you listen to questions and respond with your answers to get them heard with clarity.

Online Interview

This kind of interview takes place over a Skype call or over a video conference call, where you will be asked to solve programming problems or go through a pair programming exercise with an interviewer so they can assess your coding skills remotely.

Face to face technical interview

Most of my programming career was in-person technical interviews where the interviewer asked me a series of technical questions about the technology. The MockRabbit app[link] will adequately prepare you for this kind of interview and help you assess your readiness instantly.

Personality and Culture fit interview

This interview can happen over a casual discussion with the interviewer. Their goal is to find the etiquette and personality traits that would be detrimental to the team and the Culture they pursue.

Panel Interview

Several people interview you together as a group. The motive of the panel is to get further clarifications of the answers you have provided earlier and jointly make decisions about your technical and personality fit jointly.

Coding Interview

You’ll be asked to solve algorithmic problems by writing code in your preferred language on the whiteboard. The purpose is to know how confident you are in solving the problems you are asked to solve.

Okay, so you’ve read a lot about lots of interviews you will face to get the job you want. I would like you to think about these interviews types, do your research and wait for my next email to know what you need to know to get through these interviews and successfully crack them.

That’s all for now. If you are interested for other articles in the series, you can read it here:
